According to The Wall Street Journal, Facebook paid nearly $50 million to acquire FriendFeed: $15 million in cash and $32.5 million in Facebook (Facebook) stock. According to the report, the stock part of the deal values Facebook at $6.5 billion – the same valuation that Facebook employees were allowed to sell stock at last month.

MySpace launches myspace.com email

Now MySpace launched its own email service, MySpace mail, it is launched in beta version and within few week it is available to all globe user,

MySpace said MySpace Mail would allow users of the News Corp.-owned social network to “communicate and share content with people both inside and outside the MySpace network.”

“MySpace enters the mail category with the potential to be the second largest mail provider in the US and the fourth largest in the world,” it said.

MySpace, by entering the email space, is throwing down a challenge to more established email services such as Google’s Gmail, Yahoo! mail and Microsoft’s Hotmail.

Current MySpace users can create a MySpace Mail account using their current user name on the social network, adding a @myspace.com address, MySpace said.

The Social networking website “Facebook” has become the fourth most trafficked website in the world.
Facebook is most popular in all age people , almost who is using internet they all are have account in Facebook, and for that now facebook is on NO.4 in website ranking,

In June this year, Facebook attracted a total of 340 million unique visitors globally, trailing only Google, Microsoft and Yahoo sites”, the report said,
“Facebook” grew 157 percent in the past year alone, gaining 208 million visitors”.

The social networking website rush forward of Amazon in August last year in terms of worldwide unique visitors. In the first half of this year, it beat eBay, AOL and Wikimedia Foundation sites.
Facebook have now tough competition with Google, yahoo and Microsoft.

These counting is only for visitors who is visiting Twitter.COM, but half of the people not even visiting website they are using twitter app to tweets, now imagine if all this user who is not visiting twitter.com if they visit twitter than?

Twitter launches new homepage

Twitter has just launched its anticipated new homepage design. As expected, the new homepage is all about search and trending topics. The new shiny blue facade features a search field that takes center stage and also breaks down trending topics into three main sections: popular topics right now, popular topics today and popular topics this week. In order to see the new homepage, you must logout and log back into the site.
When you select a trending topic from the homepage it brings up the most recent tweets mentioning that topic. Unfortunately, you have to manually refresh the page to view the most recent tweets. I was hoping Twitter would dynamically update the search like Friendfeed does but that is not the case.
Here, the “Google Voice” trend has a definition on its search page – which is identical to What the Trend’s definition below:
